  Meteoroid \Me"te*or*oid\ (m[=e]"t[-e]*[~e]r*oid), n. [Meteor +
     -oid.] (Astron.)
     A small body moving through space, or revolving about the
     sun, which on entering the earth's atmosphere would be
     deflagrated and appear as a meteor.
