  Megalocyte \Meg"a*lo*cyte\, n. [Megalo- + Gr. ? a hollow
     vessel.] (Physiol.)
     A large, flattened red blood cell corpuscle having no
     nucleus, twice the diameter of the ordinary red corpuscle,
     found in considerable numbers in the blood in profound
     anaemia.
