     manicle, F. manicle sort glove, manacle, L. manicula a little
     hand, dim. of manus hand; cf. L. manica sleeve, manacle, fr.
     manus. See {Manual}.]
     A handcuff; a shackle for the hand or wrist; -- usually in
     the plural.
