  Lithosian \Li*tho"sian\, n. [From NL. Lithosia, the typical
     genus, fr. Gr. li`qos a stone, a rock.] (Zool.)
     Any one of various species of moths belonging to the family
     {Lithosid[ae]}. Many of them are beautifully colored.
