  Liguliflorous \Lig`u*li*flo"rous\
     (l[i^]g`[-u]*l[i^]*fl[=o]"r[u^]s), a. [Ligule + L. flos,
     floris, a flower.] (Bot.)
     Bearing only ligulate flowers; -- said of a large suborder of
     composite plants, such as the dandelion, lettuce, hawkweed,
     etc.
