     (l[aum]ft); p. pr. & vb. n. {Laughing}.] [OE. laughen,
     laghen, lauhen, AS. hlehhan, hlihhan, hlyhhan, hliehhan; akin
     to OS. hlahan, D. & G. lachen, OHG. hlahhan, lahhan,

     1. To show mirth, satisfaction, or derision, by peculiar
