  Knell \Knell\, v. i. [imp. & p. p. {Knelled}; p. pr. & vb. n.
     {Knelling}.] [OE. knellen, knillen, As. cnyllan. See {Knell},
     n.]
     To sound as a knell; especially, to toll at a death or
     funeral; hence, to sound as a warning or evil omen.
