  Kayak \Kay"ak\, n. (Naut.)
     A light canoe, made of skins stretched over a frame, and
     usually capable of carrying but one person, who sits
     amidships and uses a double-bladed paddle. It is peculiar to
     the Eskimos and other Arctic tribes.
