     vb. n. Jolting.] [Prob. fr. jole, joll, jowl, and orig.
     meaning, to knock on the head. See {Jowl}.]
     To shake with short, abrupt risings and fallings, as a
     carriage moving on rough ground; as, the coach jolts.
