     (Bot.)
     (a) The native Brazilian name for certain leguminous trees,
         which produce the beautiful woods called {king wood},
         {tiger wood}, and {violet wood}.
     (b) A genus of bignoniaceous Brazilian trees with showy


         trumpet-shaped flowers.
