  Inchworm \Inch"worm`\, n. (Zool.)
     The larva of any geometrid moth. It progresses forward by
     first bringing the rear end of the body forward, forming a
     loop, then moving the front part of the body; called also
     {measuring} worm, {measuringworm}, {spanner}, and {looper}.
