  Hyperbaric \Hy`per*bar"ic\, a. [hyper- + baric.]
     1. of, pertaining to, or using a pressure that is greater
        than normal atmospheric pressure; as, a hyperbaric
        chamber, where divers may decompress slowly to avoid the
        bends.
