  Greensand \Green"sand`\ (-s[a^]nd`), n. (Geol.)
     A variety of sandstone, usually imperfectly consolidated,
     consisting largely of glauconite, a silicate of iron and
     potash of a green color, mixed with sand and a trace of
     phosphate of lime.
