     jaw + ?, ?, the mouth.] (Zool.)
     A comprehensive division of vertebrates, including all that
     have distinct jaws, in contrast with the leptocardians and
     marsipobranchs (Cyclostoma), which lack them. [Written also
     {Gnathostomata}.]
