  Glucina \Glu*ci"na\, n. [Cf. F. glycine, glucine. So called
     because it forms sweet salts. See {Glucinum}.] (Chem.)
     A white or gray tasteless powder, the oxide of the element
     glucinum; -- formerly called glucine.
