  Glacial \Gla"cial\, a. [L. glacialis, from glacies ice: cf. F.
     glacial.]
     1. Pertaining to ice or to its action; consisting of ice;
        frozen; icy; esp., pertaining to glaciers; as, glacial
        phenomena. --Lyell.
