  Gallfly \Gall"fly`\, n.; pl. {Gallflies}. (Zool.)
     An insect that deposits its eggs in plants, and occasions
     galls, esp. any small hymenopteran of the genus {Cynips} and
     allied genera. See Illust. of {Gall}.
