     gado["i]de gadoid, Gr. ? a sort of fish, F. gade.] (Zool.)
     Of or pertaining to the family of fishes ({Gadid[ae]}) which
     includes the cod, haddock, and hake. -- n. One of the
     {Gadid[ae]}. [Written also {gadid}.]
