  Fusileer \Fu"sil*eer"\, Fusilier \Fu"sil*ier"\, n. [F. fusilier,
     fr. fusil.] (Mil.)
     (a) Formerly, a soldier armed with a fusil. Hence, in the
         plural:
     (b) A title now borne by some regiments and companies; as,
         "The Royal Fusiliers," etc.
