  Fuchsia \Fuch"si*a\, n.; pl. E. {Fuchsias}, L. {Fuchsi[ae]}.
     [NL. Named after Leonard Fuchs, a German botanist.]

        flowers, with four sepals, four petals, eight stamens, and
        a single pistil. They are natives of Mexico and South
