     The god of earth's fertility and peace and prosperity,
     presiding over rain, sunshine, and all the fruits of the
     earth, dispensing wealth among men; son of Njorth (Njord) and
     brother of Freya; originally of the Vanir; later with the
     Aesir. He was especially worshipped in the temple at Upsala
