  Expire \Ex*pire"\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Expired}; p. pr & vb. n.
     {Expiring}.] [L. expirare, exspirare, expiratum, exspiratum;
     ex out + spirare to breathe: cf. F. expirer. See {Spirit}.]
