  Enchodus \En"cho*dus\, n. [NL., fr. Gr. ? a spear + 'odoy`s,
     'odo`ntos, a tooth.] (Paleon.)
     A genus of extinct Cretaceous fishes; -- so named from their
     spear-shaped teeth. They were allied to the pike ({Esox}).
