     vb. n. {Dreading}.] [AS. dr[=ae]dan, in comp.; akin to OS.
     dr[=a]dan, OHG. tr[=a]tan, both only in comp.]
     To fear in a great degree; to regard, or look forward to,
     with terrific apprehension.
