Douse \Douse\ (dous), v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Doused} (doust); p.
pr. & vb. n. {Dousing}.] [Cf. {Dowse}, and OD. donsen to
strike with the fist on the back, Sw. dunsa to fall down
violently and noisily; perh. akin to E. din.]
