     rows, of two verses; di- = di`s- twice + ? row, verse, fr. ?
     to ascend; akin to AS. st[imac]gan to ascend: cf. F.
     distique. See {Stirrup}.] (Pros.)
     A couple of verses or poetic lines making complete sense; an
     epigram of two verses. Distich
