     difficultas, fr. difficilis difficult; dif- = dis- + facilis

     1. The state of being difficult, or hard to do; hardness;
        arduousness; -- opposed to {easiness} or {facility}; as,
        the difficulty of a task or enterprise; a work of


        difficulty.
