     roi, rei, arrangement, order; prob. of German origin, and
     akin to E. ready. See {Ready}, {Greith}, and cf. {Corody},

     1. To dress or prepare for use by a process of scraping,
        cleansing, beating, smoothing, and coloring; -- said of
        leather.
