  Cordovan \Cor"do*van\ (k[^o]r"d[-o]*v[a^]n), n. [Sp. cordoban,
     fr. Cordova, or Cordoba, in Spain. Cf. {Cordwain}.]
     Same as {Cordwain}. In England the name is applied to leather
     made from horsehide.
