     vb. n. {Conducing}.] [L. conducere to bring together,
     conduce, hire; con- + ducere to lead. See {Duke} and cf.
     Conduct, n., {Cond}.]
     To lead or tend, esp. with reference to a favorable or
     desirable result; to contribute; -- usually followed by to or


     toward.
