     {Coldest}.] [OE. cold, cald, AS. cald, ceald; akin to OS.
     kald, D. koud, G. kalt, Icel. kaldr, Dan. kold, Sw. kall,
     Goth. kalds, L. gelu frost, gelare to freeze. Orig. p. p. of
