     to filter, to strain, fr. colum a strainer. Cf. {Cullis},
     {Culvert}.]
     A utensil with a bottom perforated with little holes for
     straining liquids, mashed vegetable pulp, etc.; a strainer of
     wickerwork, perforated metal, or the like.
