  Chaparajos \Cha`pa*ra"jos\, n. pl. [Mex. Sp.]
     Overalls of sheepskin or leather, usually open at the back,
     worn, esp. by cowboys, to protect the legs from thorny
     bushes, as in the chaparral; -- called also {chapareras} or
     colloq. {chaps}. [Sp. Amer.]
