  Cephalata \Ceph`a*la"ta\, n. pl. [NL., fr. Gr. kefalh` head.]
     (Zool.)
     A large division of Mollusca, including all except the
     bivalves; -- so called because the head is distinctly
     developed. See Illustration in Appendix.
