  Burke \Burke\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Burked}; p. pr. & vb. n.
     {Burking}.] [From one Burke of Edinburgh, who committed the
     crime in 1829.]

        violence, for the purpose of obtaining a body to be sold
        for dissection.
