  Aristocracy \Ar`is*toc"ra*cy\, n.; pl. {Aristocracies}. [Gr. ?;
     ? best + ? to be strong, to rule, ? strength; ? is perh. from
     the same root as E. arm, and orig. meant fitting: cf. F.
     aristocratie. See {Arm}, and {Create}, which is related to
     Gr. ?.]
