  Albite \Al"bite\, n. [L. albus white.] (Min.)
     A mineral of the feldspar family, triclinic in
     crystallization, and in composition a silicate of alumina and
     soda. It is a common constituent of granite and of various
     igneous rocks. See {Feldspar}.
