[thorn]rysce; akin to OHG. drosca, droscea, droscela, and E. throstle. Cf. {Throstle}.] 1. (Zool.) Any one of numerous species of singing birds belonging to {Turdus} and allied genera. They are noted for the sweetness of their songs.
