     & vb. n. {Browsing}.] [For broust, OF. brouster, bruster, F.
     brouter. See {Browse}, n., and cf. {Brut}.]
     1. To eat or nibble off, as the tender branches of trees,
        shrubs, etc.; -- said of cattle, sheep, deer, and some
        other animals.
