  Breadroot \Bread`root"\, n. (Bot.)
     The root of a leguminous plant ({Psoralea esculenta}), found
     near the Rocky Mountains. It is usually oval in form, and
     abounds in farinaceous matter, affording sweet and palatable
     food.
