  Billhook \Bill"hook`\, n. [Bill + hook.]
     A thick, heavy knife with a hooked point, used in pruning
     hedges, etc. When it has a short handle, it is sometimes
     called a {hand bill}; when the handle is long, a {hedge bill}
     or {scimiter}.
