  Bifocals \Bi"fo`cals\, n. pl. [Pref. bi-+ focal.]
     eyeglasses whose lenses have two foci, allowing the wearer to
     see both far and nearby objects clearly. The lenses are
     partitioned horizontally, the upper and lower parts having
     different focal lengths.
