  Beard \Beard\ (b[=e]rd), v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Bearded}; p. pr. &
     vb. n. {Bearding}.]
     1. To take by the beard; to seize, pluck, or pull the beard
        of (a man), in anger or contempt.
