  Basutos \Ba*su"tos\, n. pl.; sing. {Basuto}. (Ethnol.)
     A warlike South African people of the Bantu stock, divided
     into many tribes, at one time subjected by the English. They
     formerly practiced cannibalism, but have now adopted many
     European customs.
