  Baculite \Bac"u*lite\, n. [L. baculum stick, staff; cf. F.
     baculite.] (Paleon.)
     A cephalopod of the extinct genus {Baculites}, found fossil
     in the Cretaceous rocks. It is like an uncoiled ammonite.
